☕️ Why “valuation” doesn’t matter like you think with a company like Palantir
Aug 06, 2025Howdy! 👋
I began my day at 0230 and a conversation with the super savvy Maria Bartiromo just after 0300… a.m… on the West Coast. So, with your permission, I’m going to keep it short, grab some shut eye and, of course, charge on with earnings.
Maria and I spoke about a variety of subjects including tariffs, the Fed, earnings in general and what to watch with MCD, DIS and UBER specifically. (Watch)
Also… I recently sat down for a conversation with my good friend and colleague Scott ‘the Cow Guy’ Shellady who asked me about “valuations” as they apply to a company like Palantir which has now returned 624.83% over the past 12 months and 2,127.40% from a low of $7.19 set on 13 March 2023, just over 2 short years ago.
I get asked that a lot and the answer may surprise you. (Watch)
Members of the One Bar Ahead® Family will no doubt recognize what I am describing as “Value Investing’s Blindspot” which I wrote about in the December 2024 issue. They’ll also know – probably while grinning ear to ear – how we’re applying it to find companies with just as much profit potential. Perhaps even more. 😀
If you’re interested, you can watch the full interview here as well.
The other question I get a lot when it comes to Palantir is, “is it too late to buy?”
I submit the answer is, “not even close.”
People worry about “losing” money in the markets, so they don’t get started and wind up missing massive wealth-building, life-changing profits. But the world’s most successful investors worry about not winning enough so they do [get started].
Anyway, take a hard look at this chart, change up your tactics to control risk, and – you got it - get started!!!
Bottom Line
It makes no sense whatsoever to apply the same tired old analysis everybody else in tarnation does but expect different results.
Think differently.
Embrace change.
Think like a shark, not a minnow.
You got this – I promise!
As always, let’s MAKE it a great day.
And heat up some more coffee!
Keith 😀
